Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I’m Marika and I’m a craftoholic and one of my main hobbies is cross stitching and that is mostly what this blog is about. I’m also a “flosstuber”, which just means that I share my love of cross stitching also over at youtube and this blog is more an extension of that, then a stand alone blog.

So who is the person behind this blog?

Well my name is Marika, I come from Stockholm, Sweden where I live with my boyfriend, Kristofer and my two cats Gizmo and Leia. By day I’m a senior fullstack developer and by night I craft, a lot!

I dabble in many crafts and for a long time card making was a big part of my life, which you can find more about over at Craftybit Creations, a blog I hosted until 2022 when life decided to turn itself upside down. I found that the joy of card making was just not there anymore.

So I turned to cross stitching that had been a steady companion since 2004. In the fall of 2022 I started to miss youtube, but not card making, so I decided to start Marika Stitches (the youtube channel) , and as they say the rest is history. I have been missing blogging though and as my channel grows I have been feeling that it needs a companion blog. 

A place to collect all that information that just don’t fit in the description of a youtube video. It took me some time to figure out all the ins and outs of how I wanted this would look. And even if I know that this blog will grow as I grow, I think I know have enough of things to start. So here I am! Hope you will enjoy this little part of the internet that I’m trying to make my home.
